Kwyn Marie

I'm Kwyn Marie, an indie dark fantasy writer (I illustrate under Shanda Nelson). I was raised in rural Wyoming, USA, where there is little to do other than write and draw. By age 11, I knew I wanted to be a fantasy author, and I wrote whenever I could.

My first two published ebooks are Shiobe Rising and Trouble in Tindrel, books 1 and 2 of the Wellspring Dragons series. I write a bi-weekly dark fantasy serial, Lapis of Nicodem, which runs at World Anvil. Both book world sites are found at World Anvil as well.

I play the cello, tin whistle, recorder, and synths, I was once a goth and industrial dance club DJ, and plan to continue clubbing once it becomes viable again. I play fantasy rpgs in my free time.

I wrote and drew through two BAs (English and Art History), and an MLIS. I continued to write and draw after a move to California where, to pay the bills, I became a children's librarian. After several years, I ditched the library (oh no!) and became a full-time author and illustrator.
